From developing brand new accounts to driving expansion across existing accounts, our Direct Sales team transforms opportunity into action every day. Whether focusing on a geographical area, product line, industry, channel or market segment, their goal is the same: to develop relationships with the end-users of the organization and generate meaningful sales. They are the direct line between our ground-breaking portfolio of product solutions and the desks of satisfied customers.

Key Responsibilities

Directly oversees sales managers and their teams
Understands and implements strategic direction of the direct sales organization
Drives strategic account management and pipeline development
Leads team’s business acumen and customer knowledge
Develops and trains account executives
Mentors entry level Regional Sales Managers
Manages complex accounts and/or account teams
Senior level Sales Manager
Executes Strategy
May have country manager or site lead responsibilities

Essential Requirements

Candidates must have 7-10 years of relevant experience
Experience in Relationship Selling
Basic knowledge of technical products, vendors, and families of technologies
Basic knowledge of product configurations
Basic oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel, and leadership
Desirable Requirements

Prefer any combination equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing/IT
Experience working with Channel partners, direct and indirect sales and the ability to sell through channel sales reps
Able to gain loyalty from Channel partner sales reps and differentiate the VMWare value proposition vs the competitors
Travel could be involved locally, regionally and periodic corporate headquarters training will be required and would be approximately 60%+ of the job
