Controllers are managers of the financial statement production process. They are also technically brilliant financial and managerial accountants. They deliver, to the CFO and the business owner (or management), financial statements that are timely (before the 15th of the month), accurate (to TGG Way standards) and include the relevant and insightful, positive commentary necessary for excellent financial/business decisions.

Find ways to improve your client’s lives by teaching business owners about financial accounting and mastering the art of managerial accounting.
Mentor and build positive relationships with the client, co-workers, and the client’s staff and customers.
A minimum of 32 billable hours per week (1664 hours per year = 32 hours * 52 weeks). Individual, discretionary bonuses will be paid for exceptional performance.
Closely monitor project plans and work with CFOs, clients, and staff to insure quality work, communication and timely financial statement delivery. TGG Way quality score of 90 or better.
Create and monitor profitable project plans for all clients (due by the 25th of the previous month). Less than 7% budget to actual variance.
Maintain a positive attitude - You are a leader and expected to be an example of positivity and success at TGG. Teach and mentor TGG staff, client’s staff, and others through your actions, discipline, and caring.
Principal Accounting Activities and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Cash Flow forecasting
Handle escalated collection/dispute issues
Approval of adjusting journal entries
Review financial statements
Write monthly overview
Approve monthly close out
Coordinate with advisors
Ad Hoc Items:
Tax planning preparation
Referral Partner Introductions
Chart of Accounts initial setup/clean up
Create and improve accounting processes
Build Excel financial reporting templates
Write KPI commentary on financial statements
Create and maintain project plans
Analyze cash flow needs
Review utilization and gross profit metrics
Train employees both internal and onsite
Interview potential new hires
Expert level understanding of managerial and financial accounting principles normally represented by a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of industry experience and training
Previous management experience
Must be an entrepreneurial team oriented person that thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, achieving personal and business goals
A desire to succeed, excellent work ethic, solid interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook (especially email and calendar functions) and PowerPoint.
High proficiency in Excel (e.g. sumIF, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
Ability to work in a consulting type environment with multiple clients and staff teams – ability to start and stop on work multiple times throughout the day
Previous experience in QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus
Be able to work 40-50 hours per week
Have a professional attitude and appearance
Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
