Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Under the supervision of the General Manager, provides management control of the housekeeping and maintenance departments. Inspects guestrooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness and service standards are maintained. The incumbent will successfully perform a wide variety of duties to establish and maintain standards, policies, and procedures for crisp, clean and comfort facilities for guest patrons. Organizes and directs departmental training programs, hires, evaluates quality of work performed, monitors productivity and motivates staff to improve performance through branded checklists and forms. Responds to all guest requests and inquiries regarding housekeeping operations/services. Responsibilities also include daily opening and closing procedures. Ensures facilities are clean, safe, and all tasks and paperwork completed at the end of each work shift. Trains, schedules work, provides input on work performance, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions. Conducts daily pre-shift meetings, guest room and facility inspections, prepares reports, staffing, etc. Refers unusual problems/requests to the General Manager for further action. Maintains regular contact with the Front Desk for checkouts through the use of the Property Management Systems (PMS).

Sets the overall objectives and establishes the resources available for housekeeping and maintenance staff employees. Assigns, coordinates and distributes work, coaches, counsels, mentors staff; approves/disapproves leave requests, recommends and completes personnel actions, completes performance reviews and approves timesheets, trains employees, keeps informed of and actively supports the principles of the EEO and Sexual Harassment programs. Supervisor responsibilities of employees include: recruiting, interviewing, and selecting applicants for vacant billets, assigning and distributing work load. Provides detail training instruction to include the proper use of chemicals, cleaning supplies, labeling of hazardous supplies, and industrial hygiene in accordance with Base Safety standards.

Supervises a work force of housekeeping room attendants and maintenance staff. Maintains and enforces security of funds, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize potential for fraud, waste, and abuse.

Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

A minimum of two to three years hotel and housekeeping supervisory experience preferred with direct knowledge and/or experience in hotel operations which includes: (1) housekeeping/lodging standards, and policies and procedures to maintain a clean, orderly and attractive facility, (2) knowledge and application of budgetary and fiscal management, (3) ability to supervise and to coordinate the work of subordinates, (4) basic computer skills and prior experience with a property management system. Some college experience is preferred. Position requires a favorable background investigation. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance, may be required.
