Precision BioSciences is seeking a detail oriented molecular biologist with recent laboratory experience for a Research Associate position. The position will require routine cloning, DNA preparation, and manipulation of bacterial and mammalian cells. The candidate must be a fast learner, meticulous, and have a track record of successful bench work. The position is working closely with a large, friendly team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As a member of the Core Technology team, the Research Associate will be responsible for:
Cloning a variety of constructs into plasmid DNA
Plasmid DNA purification
Genomic DNA purification
Library preparation for Next Generation Sequencers (NGS)
Generation of electrocompetent bacteria
Generation of mRNA
Transfection of mammalian cell culture with mRNA and DNA
Work with automation
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
BA or BS in biological science with 3+ years of relevant laboratory bench work experience, or MS in biological science with 1+ years of relevant laboratory bench work experience, or equivalent training and experience required
Demonstrated experience with DNA cloning and isolation required
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software; DNA analysis software such as Sequencher and web-based programs such as BLAST and Align required
Experience with library set up for NGS deep sequencing or automation is highly preferred but not required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to clearly present results to managers.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
