The Department of Psychology is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to provide departmental assistance as the Grants Assistant. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, assisting faculty in budget preparation and grant/contract proposals, communicating with THCAS office of Research, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), and the Office of Grants and Contracts regarding proposal submission and grant administration, communicating with faculty on federal and university regulations regarding management of grants and disbursement of funds, developing necessary spreadsheets, completing required forms, monitoring budgets, managing all purchases and processing financial actions / reimbursements associated with grants; maintaining all budget spreadsheets, approving grant travel and submitting travel reimbursements, creating compensation forms, and other personnel-related forms necessary to pay faculty and others out of grant funds. The Grants Assistant is also responsible for the monthly reconciliation of grant expenditures and grant/contract closure. Other duties of the position include scholarship and student award assistance.
This individual will be integral member of the AA-West Grants Administration Hub, and as such, may provide services to faculty in other departments in Harriot College as necessary, and as determined by the College post-award Grants Manager and Associate Dean for Research. This individual will receive training along with other Hub staff to ensure continuity of processes and compliance with university, state and federal guidelines pertaining to grants/contracts. Demonstrate excellent communication and time-management skills; exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; and, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications; and possess the ability to be a team player.
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation
