This position reports directly to the President & Chief Operating Officer of PSEG Long Island. However, this is a dual-support role providing administrative assistance to both the President & Chief Operating Officer and the Vice President of Construction & Operations Services. This position will perform a wide variety of administrative support functions, which are diverse and may be sensitive or confidential in nature. The duties require a broad knowledge of corporate functions, key personnel, procedures, etc. The successful candidate will be able to work independently on assignments, compose professional correspondence and reports on behalf of the company, and may be required to provide research support for special projects utilizing PowerPoint , Microsoft Word, Excel and other software tools.

Candidate will manage heavy calendar appointments, plan corporate events (i.e. employee town hall meetings and off-site Senior Leadership Team meetings), and will coordinate the charitable board commitments for the COO. Some domestic travel arrangements will be required. Other functions include screening customer correspondence, maintaining office supply inventory for the Executive Office, processing invoice payments, creating purchase orders, and ensuring that all upcoming deadlines, meetings and appointments are met.

Required Education, Skills and Competencies

High school diploma, Business or Secretarial School.
Minimum of 3 or more years supporting a senior level executive
Proven proficiency in the use of the Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and Adobe.
The ability to manage the internal process flow of highly sensitive and confidential information.
Superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated planning and organization skills.
The ability to work independently and effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure, completing assignments with close attention to detail and in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.
Strong customer/client focus and teamwork skills.

Desired Education, Skills and Competencies

Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to delegate effectively
Corporate Event Planning experience
Proficiency in the use of SAP (CATS, MM, HR),

This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
