Responsible for screening and disposition requests for services from VCCC. Performs as crisis counselor, as needed. Gathers information for referral to our program and for statistical purposes.

Essential Job Functions: (This is not the job description in its entirety)

  • Conduct diagnostic mental health assessments with skill and compassion.
  • Provide client placement in appropriate level of care based on clinical screening and JCAHO criteria.
  • Ensure consent for services and understanding of client rights for individuals requesting services.
  • Work collaboratively with Front Desk, Care Coordinators and other staff involved in intake process.
  • Attain client satisfaction goals, as specified.
  • Attends scheduled VC staff meetings and training.
  • Assists Access Specialist for Intakes in the overall program development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MA Degree in Behavioral Sciences Field.
  • Two years of experience in mental health field or MSW.
  • Ability to obtain Washington State MHP (Mental Health Professional) designation upon hire.
  • Pass required background checks.
  • Ability to work independently.
