Position summary: General (The following apply to all Quality Leads): 1. Adhere to and enforce all requirements of the CPI Safety Program. 2. Adhere to and enforce all CPI security requirements including counting and documenting the disposition of all cards to and from the operation.

3. Adhere to and enforce all requirements of the CPI Quality Management System. 4. Adhere to all requirements of the CPI Workmanship Manual.

5. Coordination with production supervision and machine operators regarding completion and reporting of inspection activities 6. Willingness to work flexible hours as required. Quality Lead 1.

Owns responsibility for product quality. (used to say in smartcard – deleted this). 2. Directs work flow and processes for Quality Technicians 3.

Train and instruct Quality Technicians 4. Address issues reported by the Quality Techs and operators. Identify resolution path, containment, preventative action and report to Quality Manager. 5.

Ability to read and interpret job tickets and all applicable internal and external specifications 6. Perform product audits at defined intervals; complete data entry to track results 7. Perform process audits at defined intervals; complete data entry to track results 8. Initiation of nonconformance and Quality Alert documentation (based on audit results) 9.

Perform containment and/or immediate corrective action activities when non-conformances are found 10. Perform inspection of customer samples or other test cards to ensure conformance to all applicable requirements 11. Assist with data collection for Gage R&R studies 12. Assist with data collection for capability studies 13.

Participate in continuous improvement teams and projects 14. Evaluate performance of Quality Technicians and perform performance appraisals. 15. Other data collection activities as required 16.

Assist Quality Manager and/or Quality Engineer with internal and external corrective action investigations 17. Participate in the internal audit process per CPI and ISO requirements 18. Participate in the 5S program 19. Complete incoming inspection on received raw materials as required 20.

Perform internal calibrations of measurement and test equipment 21. Ability to analyze and interpret shop floor data and initiate corrective and preventive action as necessary 22. Ability to maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports and publish data to supervisors and the Management Team 23. Lead continuous improvement projects and initiatives in support of the continuous improvement strategies 24.

Assist with new material qualification testing and evaluation 25. Assist the Quality Manager in implementing and maintaining the Business Management System 26. Create, revise, and/or maintain quality documentation and records as needed 27. Processing, follow-up, and closeout of nonconformance reports Ancillary Responsibilities 1.

Multi-lingual in Spanish and/or Vietnamese is desired but not required Mathematical: 1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to graph and interpret results.

Skills in basic statistics such as SPC (Statistical Process Control) are highly desired but not required. Reasoning: 1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Experience: 1. 1+ year of experience in a quality-focused manufacturing or service environment is required 2. Experience in a quality role is required. Certification/Licenses: 1.

American Society for Quality, Certified Quality Auditor is desired but not required Decision Making Level/Position Latitude 1. Ability to make decisions regarding compliance of processes and products to specified requirements 2. Approval required from Quality Manager for any expenditures Position Scope Data 1. Direct reports – Yes - Quality technicians – Physical Demands – (e.g.

sitting, standing, lifting, traveling, eyestrain etc) 1. Work is primarily conducted standing or walking in a manufacturing environment and sitting in an office environment and often requires bending and stooping to observe product and/or manufacturing equipment 2. Manufacturing environment is noisy and may require ear protection 3. Work involves good eyesight, hand/eye coordination and excellent color vision to be able to ensure quality product 4.

Work involves dealing with fine detail and constant human interaction, which can be tiring both mentally and physically 5. On-call continuously and may be called back to the plant during off-duty hours 6. Work is conducted in shifts and may require long hours, including weekends, to meet deadlines 7. Position may require up to 10% travel
