Job Summary: The Certified Surgical First Assistant collaborates with the RN to care for the intraoperative patient by individualizing the plan for intraoperative interventions, adhering to policies and procedures, AORN Standards, and physician preferences. Responsibilities include first and second assisting in all surgical specialties according to the level of training and abilities as a First Assistant under the direct supervision of the attending surgeon.
Job Requirements: Graduate of CAAHEP approved program. Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Certified as a Certified Scrub Technician First Assistant with one year of previous experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or successful completion of BLS training and certification upon hire.
