Spotts, Stevens and McCoy is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of complex structures for our clients in the industrial, healthcare, higher education, research and municipal marketplaces. You will work with a diverse team of engineers, collaborating to create innovative and sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develops, supervises, and approves complex and involved structural engineering project planning, design, location, and construction; specifies equipment needed; responsible for managing all phases of project development.
- Reviews and analyzes structural project requirements as indicated in engineering sketches, drawings, and notes; reviews recommendations of the project team and/or devises improvements in method and use of materials.
- Prepares proposals, cost estimates, reports, feasibility studies, bidding documents, and specifications.
- May conduct field observations or field tests to determine client needs; observes completed work to document conformity to requirements and/or ordinances and safety standards.
- Mentors Graduate Engineers in the fundamentals and practice of engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in structural engineering.
- Minimum 10 years' structural engineering experience.
- PE required.
This position is based out of our Reading PA office; however, there may be flexibility for a hybrid-remote work model.
