This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before 1/01/2020, with the possibility of reappointment and/or permanency. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Serves as Front Desk Receptionist responsible for the efficient coordination of the department and selected administrative and clerical duties, including: Communicating department and program information to interested parties; Processing purchasing, expenses, and reimbursements; Arranging travel and processing travel paperwork; Helping CFD students who have been awarded Student Success Fee funds; Coordinating department events; Creating documents, reports, forms and other materials; Updating department website and directories; Ordering, organizing and maintaining inventory supplies; Monitoring and tracking budgets; Coordinating work orders, facilities and space processes and moves; Serving as department telephone and key issue coordinator; Uploading faculty syllabi to the Library Collection; Assisting with student assistants’ timesheets and paperwork; Compiling data for class stats, course preference sheet, bio forms and applications; Maintaining checkout system for CFD books and equipment; Assisting Department Coordinator, Chair, and Graduate Program Directors as appropriate.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,131 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,846 - $4,582 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Experience working in a higher education or public sector setting.
Experience working with diverse student populations in a university setting.
Experience in event coordination.
Experience coordinating travel arrangements.
Experience working as a front desk receptionist
Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
Basic website editing skills.
