Hydraulic Team Flushing and Pigging Technician -Houston Texas
Carry out checks as defined in the “B”Check Sheets and Loop Sheets during Static Commissioning activities.
Pigging of systems
Understanding and execution of commissioning procedures during Dynamic Commissioning activities.
Ensure that the installation and testing of mechanical static and rotating equipment, and piping equipment is conducted in accordance with CONTRACTOR requirements for the following range of equipment on mechanical systems:
Process systems, including compressors, turbines, lube oil, pumps, vessels chemical injection, flaring systems; etc.
Utility systems, including compressed air and nitrogen systems and associated piping, cooling and heating mediums, open and closed drain systems, etc.
Fire and Safety equipment.
Heating and Ventilating (HVAC) equipment
Piping and valves, including witness of hydrotesting, torqueing, chemical cleaning/flushing, nitrogen/helium leak testing, and pressure safety valve (PSV) certification.
Lube Oil flushing including high velocity flushing.
Authorized person to affect the mechanical/process LOTO of related equipment.
Assist other disciplines and vendors where the work scope overlaps (flexible work practice).
Attend regular Safety meetings, and demonstrate safety awareness in the performance of normal work functions.
Observe COMPANY safety rules and regulations, including the Permit to Work system, and comply with same.
Maintain good housekeeping conditions on the job site.
Responsible for the economical use of materials and equipment, high volume/high quality work, and the proper care and protection of tools and equipment.
Undertake all training activities as deemed necessary by COMPANY.
Ability to install, repair, calibrate, test and maintain pneumatic or mechanical control equipment. This includes stationary and rotating systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Verification of the following items:
Alignments of rotating equipment, both vertical and horizontal.
Flushing of all major equipment. And Pigging of systems
Gear tooth contact
Vessel internal inspections
Installation of filter media
Inspection of internal and external coating applications.
Mechanical Seal installation, setting and repair
Chemical cleaning of process piping
High School Diploma required.
Minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship/training experience in the mechanical/piping field, three of which must be in the construction/commissioning of oil and gas or petrochemical facilities.
Ability to understand and interpret the Mechanical Codes, schematics, P&ID’s & Logic Drawings.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Comply with all safety programs and practices.
Good communication skills with a broad cross section of personnel, inclusive of clients, operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, sub-contractors, vendors and coworkers.
Experienced in the walk-down and punch listing of systems and subsystems.
Ability to read and understand P&ID’s, Vendor Mechanical Drawings, schematics, isometrics and Logic Drawings.
Ensure “as-built” drawings are marked up and updated, and passed to the appropriate CONTRACTOR Supervisor and Discipline Engineers.
Skilled in the use of all test equipment required during Static and Dynamic Commissioning activities.
Familiar with industry standard static and dynamic commissioning check out forms, turn over documentation, red line drawings, as-built drawings and the ability to complete required documentation accurately and legible.
