Integral Group’s Oakland office is seeking a MEP Mechanical Design Engineer to help lead the design of cutting edge, deep green buildings.

If you’re the right person, you’ll design standard control sequences and details that can be customized for sustainable higher education, science & technology, healthcare, mission critical, and commercial building projects.

Design HVAC control systems
Load calculations
Equipment selection
Analysis of equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection
Developing system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop images)
CAD/BIM design
Coordinate mechanical system design with architects and other consultants
Writing specifications based on applicable codes.
Perform detailed site surveys
Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors
Proficient in coaching/teaching
Performs other duties as needed and directed by managers
8+ years of design experience in HVAC control systems
BS Architectural Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree is an asset but will consider those without degrees
Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive, confident, and effective
Knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD
Able to work independently to complete specific design tasks
Able to read Architectural, Structural, Civil, Electrical drawings with minimal supervision
Able to “sketch” ideas and convey high-level approach
Thorough understanding of results of energy modeling and calculations required
PE license preferred
MS or equivalent degree is an asset
Experience with BIM
Experience with sustainable design
Environmentally minded with an understanding of energy and climate change issues
