What you'll do
- Design, build, implement, document, and manage a full landscape of resilient and secure networking components such as Routers, Firewalls, Switches, wireless equipment, and load balancers for environments ranging from small remote client locations to Data Centers and the cloud.
- Integrate network-connected systems such as servers, storage, workstations, cameras, and cloud systems for optimal security and performance.
- Leverage observability tools to build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and config backups across the network topology
- Quickly diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of network issues, from end-host connectivity to traffic flows, with root cause analysis for reporting and the goal of future improvements
- Manage Incident/Tickets, Change/Configuration Management/Problem management
- Act as an escalation point for break/fix issue resolution
- Constantly innovating and improving our infrastructure and processes
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed and address critical issues during off hours as needed
- Work onsite at client locations as needed
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years of networking and systems experience supporting a wide variety of network technology and platforms, designing and implementing complete network infrastructure, as well as integrating partial upgrades in a variety of environments, from network infrastructure to copper and fiber cabling, to configurations with the goal of having a system that is highly reliable and simple to manage
- Proven and demonstratable knowledge of networking technologies and communication protocols (Routing (RIP/OSPF/EIGRP/BGP), Switching L2/L3, spanning tree/portfast, WiFi, VLANs, iSCSI, VPN, DNS, DHCP)
- Strong technical curiosity, security-minded, and a "let's figure it out" attitude.
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring platforms and protocols
- Experience managing systems on the network – Servers, SAN, NAS, Workstations, Phone systems, IP Cameras,
- Knowledge of managing Digital Certificates, public DNS
- Experience with network traffic analysis using tools like Wireshark,
- Experience with network observability, management, and monitoring tools like PRTG, Auvik, SolarWinds, etc.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in an IT discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a network administration role. Able to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve network outages, network performance issues, or networked application issues.
- In-depth, hands-on experience with networking hardware, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in configuring and managing Switches, Routers, WiFi systems, and Firewalls
- Understanding of AAA methodologies and protocols, including RADIUS and TACACS.
- Advanced knowledge of core network infrastructure technologies and protocols
- Experience in the development and implementation of network designs according to standards and best practices
- Knowledge of various redundancy technologies
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of standard configuration management tools
- Comfortable with the use of various Network Operating Systems
- Working knowledge in Load balancers technology
- Must live near or be willing to relocate to Wichita, KS.
Preferred
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, Net+, Sec+, SNSA, WCNA, AWS CCP/CSA/CSOA, etc.
- Cloud platform experience and certifications, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or DigitalOcean
- Ability to work onsite at the office location in Wichita 5 days a week
- Experience managing IP Telephony systems
- Working knowledge in SDWAN.
- Consulting experience
- Ability to travel 5%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Experience with SonicWALL, Fortinet, Dell, Cisco, Ubiquiti
