Specific Functions/Activities Summary
SUMMARY: This position will support the New York Knicks, Westchester Knicks and Knicks Gaming community programs and fan development efforts. Through the development and execution of fan- facing programs, events and experiences, the position will focus on strengthening affinity for the Knicks brand.
This position will provide critical operation and execution support on a day-to-day basis for a wide range of community and fan engagement programs throughout the New York Metropolitan area including social responsibility platforms, current player appearances, in-kind donation program, in-arena fan touchpoints, alumni relations, and other special events and projects, with the goal of ensuring the successful execution of strategic, best-in-class, fan-first brand experiences.
Assist with managing our robust in-kind donation program, which supports hundreds of local non-profit organizations. Responsible for inventory maintenance, vetting donation requests, communicating with requestors, and fulfillment requests
Help to organize and track department spending, based on annual budgets, including submitting purchase orders and processing invoices. Help manage project-specific budgets
Responsible for creating and updating department calendars which outline key activities for current players, alumni, events and fan experiences for all three teams
Manage customer database in coordination with MSG’s CRM system, including updating, tracking, and reporting
Help develop and execute programming that aligns with our community and fan engagement strategies, including, but not limited to Season of Giving, Hoops for Troops, Black History Month, Pride and in-arena theme night platforms
Involvement in the creation and execution of events for and on behalf of the Garden of Dream Foundation, including in-arena experiences, seasonal touchpoints and fund-raising events
Coordinate and activate in-arena experiences and participate in ideation and execution of grassroots marketing events year-round
Assist with the coordination of current and alumni player appearances, including scheduling, payments and communication
Provide support in the development of meeting notes and tracking of key follow-ups
Assist with Junior Knicks events and activities on an as needed basis
Detail-oriented, highly organized individual with experience or interest in project management
Adaptable individual who will establish effective relationships across multiple departments and functional areas
Interested in operations, social responsibility and fan development with a sports team
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Undergraduate college degree required
Must be able to work games nights and weekends
Ideal candidate will have 1 – 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced work environment, have a basic understanding of the National Basketball Association, and is eager to learn, share ideas, and grow in a vigorous setting
Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
