Bancroft Architects + Engineers is a full-service architect and engineering firm with a broad portfolio of experience in providing planning, architecture, engineering and construction management services.
Qualified candidates will have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of building mechanical design experience. Must be a licensed PE, with experience in the healthcare industry a plus. This individual shall be proficient in AutoCAD, with experience in Revit strongly desired. It is imperative that this individual be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a good communicator. Qualified candidates will have detailed knowledge of building HVAC and duct design, plumbing systems and piping.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as an integral part of an architectural and engineering design team, working under the direction of a lead Project Architect. You will work directly with design professionals to solve building mechanical design challenges, apply your knowledge of materials and construction methods, and assist in assembling full sets of construction documents. The ability to use common design tools including AutoCAD, Revit, TRACE 700, Word and Excel will be required.
Major responsibilities of this position include:
Mechanical engineering for HVAC and/or plumbing systems, including design calculations and specifications development.
Prepare basic mechanical drawings and details.
Perform field surveys of mechanical systems and equipment.
Maintain project documentation, including calculations, field surveys, construction documents, project files, etc.
Partner closely with assigned project architects to develop, verify and coordinate technical aspects of all designs.
Interface with vendors; evaluate/select equipment under supervision.
Prepare punch lists under supervision.
Assist with review of mechanical shop drawings; respond to Requests for Information.
Participate in client meetings and interviews, as assigned.
Travel as required by project assignments.
