The JetBlue Emerging Talent (JET) internship program provides skill & professional development through participation in the developing real-world business solutions that support the delivery of strategic business initiatives. Throughout the program, interns participate in a robust programming including professional development activities, cross-functional projects, senior leader exposure, networking, and community service. The JET Program provides interns the opportunity to immerse themselves into the aviation industry while developing specific career interest or areas of study.

The Business Continuity and Emergency Response (BCER) team is responsible for preparing for, responding to, and recovering from business interruption events. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual with an interest in business continuity and/or emergency planning and management, who is seeking the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization. The Intern should be an effective communicator that is comfortable working in an ever-changing environment and is a detail-oriented and creative individual whose personal values match JetBlue’s values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun, and Passion.

Essential Responsibilities

Create department materials

Audit and create Go Kits for response teams

Create framework for Emergency Preparedness Month

Assist with design and testing of operations elements of the safety audit program

Design and conduct building evacuation drills for our 24/7 operations floor

Other ad hoc project work

MinimumExperience and Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a related field

Results-oriented, forward-thinking, confident

Available for a 3-month summer internship

Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Strong attention to detail

Project Management experience

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Strong organization and time management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong team building and interpersonal skills[Field][Field]

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Passionate about aviation and JetBlue

Demonstrated interest in Enterprise Resiliency, Business Continuity and/or Emergency Planning and Management

Crewmember Expectations:
Regular attendance and punctuality

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
