Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in operations, process improvement, policy or trust and safety.
Prior experience in crisis/escalation management.
Experience working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
Experience or demonstrated interest in content policy or anti-abuse operations.
Demonstrated business judgment, strategic and analytical capabilities, including using data to drive strategy and business action.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and tailor responses to the audience.

The Google Play Policy team develops business policies and guides the growing developer community and digital content catalog of Google Play. We ensure that Google Play is a safe, informative and engaging destination. Whether analyzing high profile policy needs, interacting with external parties, collaborating with cross-functional teams, or writing and driving enforcement for worldwide policies, the team is at the forefront of defining the direction of our policies and ensuring our users, including developers, have positive and secure experiences.
The team is seeking a Policy Escalations Specialist to handle high-profile issues to ensure that sensitive escalations related to Google Play apps and developers are addressed quickly and effectively, with the least amount of impact on our users, business and brand. You'll provide insights on trends, impact and possible policy improvements to the Policy team.
As the Policy Escalations Specialist, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality policy support for sensitive areas, from external sources and internal escalations. You're comfortable delivering decisions and recommendations under tight time pressure. You'll build relationships with Legal, Policy, Product, Business Development, Trust and Safety and PR to help implement solutions to urgent policy issues.

Lead assessment and resolution of known policy issues arising from press, regulatory and executive escalations.
Ensure relevant stakeholders are kept informed of key escalations.
Close the loop on all escalations by sharing observed trends and insights with Google Play Policy Managers to amend policy guidance.
Share and document any identified operational gaps in our enforcement processes.
