This position is responsible for doing general office cleaning including, vacuuming carpets, dust mopping, wet mopping hard floors, emptying trash cans, and cleaning toilets and sinks, etc.
***This position is 2nd Shift (4:30 pm to 1:00 am)
Performs and directs cleaning and care for buildings and facilities in order to ensure they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner
Perform and direct maintaining storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner in order to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
Removes trash in accordance with established procedures.
Cleans and disinfects restrooms, kitchen, and other facilities
Vacuums, spot cleans, and/or shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial-type vacuum cleaners and shampooing equipment.
Reports malfunction of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to supervisor.
Stocks area with appropriate supplies
Sweeps, mops, polishes, and strips floors in rooms and halls.
Aware of the proper use, disposal, and hazards of chemical materials (e.g., paints, cleaners, sealants, caustic acids, etc.).
Other duties as assigned
Posses written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of standard cleaning practices
Ability to read or understand Material Safety Data Sheets, labels, and instructions
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work with little direct supervision
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
5 years cleaning or related experience
Valid Illinois drivers’ license
