Responsible to the CEO for the leadership, development,
coordination and management of Hawaii Care Choices’ clinical
services and systems to achieve our mission of providing people and
families facing serious illness, death and grief the highest quality
end-of-life care and support, in accordance and compliance with
Hawaii Care Choices policies, procedures, regulatory and licensing
requirements, HIPAA privacy regulations and quality assurance
performance improvement. Programs include, homecare hospice,
inpatient hospice, community based palliative care and transitions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate the development, implementation,
maintenance and evaluation of agency compliance with all
standards, regulations and laws, including quality assurance
and performance improvement as it relates to clinical services.
Integrates findings into organizational planning, evaluation and
policies & procedures
Explore, develop and implement hospice and palliative care
industry best practice methods/models of care to assure the
availability and provision of appropriate care and services.
Including but not limited to staffing patterns that meet patient
and family care needs.
Skill & Knowledge Requirements
Possess strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills and
ability to communicate effectively.
Demonstrated organizational and critical thinking/analytical skills,
detail-oriented, and follow up.
Sound working knowledge of Hospice Conditions of Participation
(COPs) and clinical standards of practice.
Working knowledge and Understanding of CMS CoPs, Accreditation
Standards, & State Certification/Licensing Standards.
Advanced and efficient use of technology
Education & Experience Requirements
o Minimum of BSN degree. MSN highly preferred.
o RN licensure in the State of Hawaii.
o Two (2) years hospice management and Five (5) years
leadership experience preferred.
o Valid drivers license.
o Monday through Friday during regular business hours with
administrative call duties as scheduled.
