Citi Global Data Archiving Operations is seeking a well-rounded, hands-on technologist, and highly motivated individual to support and expand its current data archiving solutions. The lead will be responsible for a small globally based team under their leadership and direction. Regular participation in meetings at various levels is required from a support perspective as well as product representation. The individual supports several products including Archiving as a Service (AaaS) which incorporates Solix in conjunction with various storage mediums to include Hadoop and CleverSafe object storage and IBM Spectrum Archive Single Drive Edition (SDE) formerly referred to as LTFS.
Additional responsibilities as it relates to these products include problem management, problem escalation, root cause analysis, and vendor management. Leadership and personal character traits required are handling pressure situations, meeting deadlines and target dates, possessing strong analytical / problem solving skills, and incorporating organization skills including task prioritization. Finally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to communication in a professional / customer oriented manner at various levels in the firm.
Lead a team of six (6) to ten (10) staff members who are primarily contracted across multiple regions.
Provide hands-on operational support for Archiving as a Service (AaaS) which incorporates Solix in conjunction with various storage mediums to include Hadoop and CleverSafe object storage and IBM Spectrum Archive Single Drive Edition (SDE) formerly referred to as LTFS running on LINUX operating system (OS).
Participate in cross functional groups across the firm supporting solutions with a client first mindset.
Familiar with RDBMS systems (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Sybase, DB2, etc) and SQL as archival sources as well as production support
Participating in meetings for clients support, working group meetings, and recurring team related discussions.
Interact with various personality types and technical / non-technical recipients (Know your target audience)
Meet all compliance related items pertaining to Archival Support including end of version service (EOVS) management.
Perform annual contingency of business (COB) tests for all production products supported across all locations.
Provide periodic reporting on current health of the environment.
Manage and react to a significant amount of daily e-mail pertaining to the products supported.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or any Computer related discipline or equivalent work experience
3+ years in a backup / archiving environment performing the functions of data protection
1+ year of team management / leadership experience
Familiar with SQL / relational database logic (e.g. joins, data types)
Familiar with command line Linux(CLI)
Familiar with various database products (e.g. Oracle, MsSQL, Sybase, MySQL)
Familiar with computer networking security (SSH, SSL, Siteminder).
Detail Oriented with great organizational skills
Approach problem management with analytical thought
Oral and written communication skills
Nice to have Qualifications:
Review scripts and / or understanding scripting logic (e.g. Perl, Python, Shell) to meet various support requirements particularly related to reporting and chargeback.
Proficient in SQL advanced queries
Knowledge of various database data types
