Pricing Analyst

Position Summary:
The Pricing Analyst’s primary responsibility is to establish and maintain product pricing that will meet both volume and profit objectives. They will manage larger scale analytical projects associated with product line performance, customer pricing/impact analysis, and competitive RFP bids. They will utilize technology and information to formulate price quotations for a given market in a responsive and competitive manner. They will work closely will sales reps and sales management in developing and executing pricing strategy. In addition, the Pricing Analyst will analyze/assess performance of our pricing strategy and recommend actions to meet and exceed financial goals. This role works cross-functionally with Customer Service, Sales/Brokers, Pre-production/Graphics, Manufacturing, Product/Market Development teams.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Cost preparation using various costing models, and price quotation based on market pricing knowledge and margin evaluation.
Responsible for thorough cost preparation of all bids, quote requests, internet auctions and RFI’s & RFP’s for major retail, distributor, food service, supermarkets, clubs, commercial and inter-company customers. Responsible for securing quotes from other Novolex Business Units.
Cost Model Maintenance: Maintain costs, machine speeds, waste, ink yields, bag weights and all other cost factors in the Pricing Model. Update annually with new budget numbers and adjust as directed by Finance when inconsistencies are identified.
Have a thorough knowledge of the product line, manufacturing capabilities, print methods and the ERP system.
Work with Sourcing on acquiring non-standard raw material, outside printing & laminating costs.
Advise Cost Accounting of new item description, raw material cost and vendor to be set up in ERP System when a quote becomes an order with a non-standard material.
Determine the impact of raw material increases to customer base.
Work closely with Legal Department to build customer contracts with relevant pricing data – evaluate/revise language regarding price escalation/de-escalation. Monitor customer freight/fuel expenses and revise pricing when necessary.
Track and evaluate quote activity and win/loss analytics
Evaluate and maintain market price integrity while understanding the competitive environment
Create and manage customer inventory agreements
Pricing contract renewals
Price Increase Evaluations and Execution
Evaluate Customer/Bundle Profitability

Candidate Requirements:
Four year college degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Finance or Accounting or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
Upwards of 3 years of experience preferred (preferably in a printing/manufacturing environment).
Must have strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Must be familiar with personal computers and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
Must have a strong work ethic and drive to achieve established goals and deadlines, with a desire for, and commitment to learning and growth
Must be organized, efficient, detail oriented, accurate and have the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
Must have god oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to make independent fact-based decisions in a quick and responsive manner
