Purpose:
The Information Systems & Analytics (ISA) Department in SCU's Leavey School

of Business invites applications for two assistant professor positions (tenure-track)

that begins Fall 2019 and focuses on information systems and business analytics.

The positions are approved at the Assistant Professor level; however, exceptional

applicants at the Associate Professor level may also be considered.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with salaries at other AACSB-International accredited business schools.

Basic Qualifications:
We see this specialization as falling at the intersection of information systems and
business analytics, so applicants should possess a foundation in these disciplines
and deep expertise in one or both. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in information
systems or a relevant discipline (or close to completion).

Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise and ability to teach in one or more of these subjects: Database
Management Systems, Business Intelligence, Information Systems analysis and
design, Business Analytics, ERP, and Financial Information Systems.

Responsibilities:
The position requires teaching at the undergraduate and master’s levels (MSIS,
MSBA, or MBA), scholarly research resulting in peer-reviewed publications, and
service to the university and profession.

Work Authorization:
A foreign national who is appointed to a tenured or tenure-track faculty position is eligible for sponsorship by Santa Clara University.

Additional Information:
The ISA Department teaches core and elective courses in our undergraduate business program, Master of Science degrees in Information Systems (MSIS), Business Analytics (MSBA), and Supply Chain Analytics (MSSCA), evening and weekend MBA programs, and Executive MBA program. The department offers undergraduate degrees in Management Information Systems, a minor in MIS, a minor in Business Analytics, and MS degrees in Information Systems, Business Analytic and Supply Chain Analytics. Currently, the Information systems program is nationally ranked by US News & World (#10 Best Graduate information Systems program in 2018), and USA Today (#5 for overall MIS programs). Our faculty publish in outlets such as ISR, MISQ, JMIS, IEEE, ACM, Management Science, MSOM, OR, and POM, and currently hold or have held senior editorial positions at these leading journals. Our faculty enjoy many opportunities for interdisciplinary work. The Leavey School is home to the Retail Management Institute (RMI), which engages in research and teaching on the use of consumer information and information technology in multi-channel retailing, as well as the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). Santa Clara University also includes the Center for Science, Technology & Society (CSTS) and the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, both of which are widely recognized. Our Business Analytics and Data Science programs are interdisciplinary efforts drawing on resources from the AIS, Economics, Finance, and Marketing departments. The Leavey School has a collegial environment and resources to support scholarly research by approximately 75 full-time faculties. We have strong linkages with the high-tech community in Silicon Valley. Our graduate programs are geared to working professionals who attend classes on evenings and/or weekends, while working nearby during the week for dynamic firms ranging from Fortune-500 size (such as Apple, Cisco, Google, Hewlett-Packard, and Intel) to early-stage startup.
