Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking Software Developer III will report to the SAE-1 Group Leader within the Software and Applications Engineering (SAE) Division. The candidate must have advanced APEX programming experience, organization skills, and the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate should also have a strong desire to learn new technologies, to become an expert in their field, and the willingness and confidence to develop safety-class, mission-critical software.
The Software Developer level IV will report to the SAE-1 Group Leader within the SAE Division. The candidate must be an expert APEX developer and must demonstrate excellent organization skills, and the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate should also have a strong desire to learn new technologies, should be an expert in their field, and the ability to develop safety-class, mission-critical software.
Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and experience designing, developing, modifying, testing, and debugging APEX applications. You should have a complete and extensive understanding of:
Oracle APEX 5.x/19.x/20.x and Oracle Database 18c/19c
Analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of APEX applications APEX interactive reports, interactive grids, collections, graphs, dashboards, and generating PDF reports
APEX security, authentication, and authorization schemes
Documentation, training, maintaining, upgrading, and reverse engineering of APEX applications
Data processing, data loading, automation improvements, data integrity, and data presentation Development, system performance, availability, reliability, security, recoverability and code efficiency
Collaboration: We are looking for someone who can work well in a team-oriented environment with the ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally within and outside of the group. In addition, you must have effective interpersonal skills for communicating technical information, building relationships, and resolving conflicts.
Innovation: This position will require you to research new technologies and tools, incorporate their usage into new products and services, and mentor junior developers.
Time Management: You should have strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work on multiple products and issues simultaneously.
Additional Job Requirements for level 4: In addition to the requirements outlined above, as a level 4, you will be expected to lead projects and teams, mentor other developers; be expected to find solutions to complex technical issues; and be regarded as an APEX application developer expert and architect. We will also expect you to evaluate APEX releases and it’s tools and all related third-party products to ensure that the organization is running the products that are most appropriate for building institutional APEX applications.
Education/Experience – Level III: This position requires a relevant bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Level IV: This position requires a relevant bachelor's degree and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with Agile (Scrum) mythologies and continues integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Experience managing or leading large complex projects
Experience customizing JIRA/Confluence sites for the application lifecycle management, especially in DevOps
Experience upgrading, supporting, extending, and enhancing Commercial off the Shelf Products (COTS) or Cloud applications
