Our Maple Grove office has an immediate opening for an Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer working at the cutting edge of water quality solutions.

Essential Functions:
A scientist or engineer applying for this position must understand, be conversant and be technically competent with the biological, ecological and limnological concepts related to water quality and water resources, and have a firm understanding of water quality issues facing resources around the region and nation. We are looking to bring on someone with a passion for working at the interface between challenging water quality issues and solutions that address our client’s needs.

The preferred candidate needs to illustrate the ability to work independently, apply reasoning skills and logic to reach technical conclusions, and have an aptitude and desire to tackle new and challenging issues particularly through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The ability to independently develop and prepare technical reports with a moderate amount of guidance is a necessity. Ability to contribute to project management, pursue grant opportunities, and familiarity with geospatial analysis techniques is also desired. Experience working on projects or studies related to Clean Water Act, sustainability, and water quality issues is a plus. Occasional travel necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record working on complex water quality issues.

Qualifications :
  • A preferred candidate will have graduated from a college or university program with a Master’s degree in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline (water resources, limnology, aquatic or terrestrial biology, ecology, limnology, natural resources management, water resource science, soils, or zoology).
  • The ideal candidate has a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated professional experience addressing environmental issues associated with water quality projects
  • Candidates need to be proficient with computer software applications in word processing, computer models, spread sheets, data bases, and GIS. Intimate knowledge of the use of GIS in addressing scientific issues is also necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s License and in good standing.
