Engility is looking to fill a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Systems Administrator (RHEL) position to support our JRE Division in San Diego, CA.

Description - External

  • The RHEL Administrator will be responsible for assisting in *nix system administration
  • Will work with continuous integration build systems such as Jenkins, Bamboo or Bitbucket Pipelines
  • Will develop & maintain RHEL system images using kickstart scripting
  • Will be responsible for maintaining various software version control systems like GIT and SVN.
  • Will also be responsible for the development of advanced scripts intended to patch systems against vulnerabilities

Qualifications - External

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim secret clearance at a minimum
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience supporting Linux in a production / development environment
  • Experience working in a mixed-platform environment running both Linux and Microsoft systems
  • Experience supporting multiple Linux variants and other UNIX based operating systems
  • Experience developing and maintaining Shell, PHP, Java, and/or C scripts or applications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Good oral and written communication skills and is comfortable in group or small settings

Desired Qualifications

  • Solaris and Windows system administration experience a plus
  • Experience building and maintaining custom packages using RPM and managing yum repositories
  • Experience building and maintaining kickstart deployment scripts
  • Experience with software versioning and revision control systems
  • Experience with Cloud PaaS providers such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with virtualized infrastructure products such as VMware vSphere
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
