Provide technical support and jobsite leadership and supervision to assure a competent, highly qualified work force redeems customer commitments in a professional, high quality and timely manner.

This job description gives an overview of the overall essential functions, competencies, skills, and abilities for the Field Project Manager role. Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Service:
o Promptly respond to customer calls/complaints and resolve problems quickly and efficiently while building and maintaining customer confidence
o Act as primary customer contact for field project activities; mainly staffing and technical performance
o Inform the Manager of Projects if there is a customer request or customer satisfaction issue that the Field Project Manager cannot fulfill/handle
o Communicate promptly and clearly with internal customers (sales reps, service personnel, etc.) as required to ensure a smooth project experience for the customer

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
o Effectively documents project progress (internally and externally), assistance needed, and key client interactions
o Available to team members and clients throughout the project installation via phone, text, and email
o Communicate with the Manager of Projects regarding items outside of project scope and/or potential change orders
o Actively participate in regular project review meetings; provide information on work progress, customer feedback, field relations, internal administration and other matters affecting service operations
o Builds rapport and productive working relationships with management and other supervisors, field, administrative and purchasing personnel internally

Job Knowledge and Technical Skills:
o Assure completion of entire project (full contracted scope) on time
o Determine job priorities and plan project work in order to achieve critical milestones
o Redeem assigned projects at planned costs; effectively manage and control equipment, materials, tools, subcontractors and other costs while ensuring effective field operations
o Manage project schedules and timelines; identifying potential problems before they arise, negotiating solutions, and communicating to all stakeholders
o Coordinate project schedules with vendors and subcontractors
o Understand mechanical systems, applicable mechanical/electrical codes and OSHA standards

Professional Development:
o Assist Manager of Projects with construction budgets: labor, subcontracts, and the purchasing of materials/equipment
o Keep technical knowledge up to date with respect to equipment and concepts
o Gain familiarity with new products and techniques as they are introduced
o Belong to, and take advantage of, technical organizations to improve knowledge

Staff Development:
o Train new project technicians, apprentices and interns; mentor technicians on how to solve problems independently
o Assist with Project Manager to ensure technical capabilities for field force is consistent with current contractual commitments; identify and recommend training to improve skills of staff, individually and as a team
o Promote professionalism and pride in order to attract high quality employees; continually build and maintain a network of contacts
o Audit technician work orders for completeness and accurate labor allocation
o Ensure personal and team compliance with all safety and health rules and regulations; company policies/employee handbooks; contracting requirements; NEC, OSHA, State Labor Dept. policies, codes and guidelines

Required Experience:
Minimum 7 years of commercial HVAC project installation

Certificate of Completion or Diploma from an accredited HVAC trade school, or equivalent job experience
Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems and installation techniques to ensure timely installation while minimizing disruptions to customer; includes chillers, boilers, ductwork, piping, etc.
Ability to read and understand construction plans and blueprints
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience using Microsoft Project preferred
Universal EPA Certification
Must possess a valid driver’s license and currently maintain a safe driving record as required by the Company’s insurance provider
