ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchases raw materials, chemicals, corrugated materials (boxes, partitions), pallets, R&D supplies, QC supplies, Mixing supplies, etc.

Works daily with Purchasing/Scheduling Manager to ensure product delivery to and from vendors.

Confirms PO’s and monitors ship/delivery dates DAILY to ensure all PO’s arrive in timely manner – establishes and builds relationships with vendors to ensure complete and on-time delivery of raw materials and chemicals.

Maintains adequate inventories of raw materials, chemicals, and corrugated to support sales forecast.

Confirms all bulk lotions once production orders are entered into the system and communicates these bulk lotion orders to the Mixing department.

Works closely with Purchasing/Scheduling Manager, Retail Buyers and Mixing Team when raw material issues arise (late PO deliveries, shortage of raw materials, etc.)

Communicates, as needed, with Mixing to ensure raw materials are received in a timely manner to support production orders.

Updates and revises PO’s to include delivery dates, correct pricing, correct weights and MOQ’s.

Monitors existing inventory to include MOQs, lead times, weights, pricing, etc. in the purchasing system.

Maintains and updates the Vendor Evaluation spreadsheet daily – prepares it for the yearly ISO audit for the QC Department.

Maintains and updates the Master Vendor list with new and/or changed vendor information, as needed.

Supports purchasing activities with Accounts Payable to resolve any issues with invoicing and pricing. Approves supplier payment of invoices for R&D, QC, Mixing and Production departments.

Supports purchasing activities with Shipping/Receiving to resolve any receiving issues (shortages/overages, damage, incorrect material, COA and packing slip issues, etc). Leads resolution of these issues with the vendors and/or shippers.

Sources new or alternate raw materials and chemicals, as needed, and procures samples as well as supporting documentation for the R&D department for evaluation.

Partners closely with the R&D team and keeps up to date on any raw material changes or discontinuation of any raw materials which could cause formula changes in products.

Communicates essential information to employees within department and/or other departments in the company.

Monitors and replenishes inventory at offsite storage facility (DHA at Americold) as well as ordering this inventory from offsite facility for AG warehouse, as needed by Mixing department.

May include some cross-training and other duties as assigned by Purchasing/Scheduling Manager.

This position is responsible for following all documented cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and Policies designed to support the development, implementation, and control of the ISO 22716:2007 standard.
