The DuPont La Porte facility located in La Porte, Texas has a Planner/Scheduler position available in the Environmental Control & Utilities unit. The facility serves as a landlord and provides utilities, waste water treatment, and emergency response services to various tenants. This is a highly visible, key role within the company and the maintenance organization. This position will report to the Site Maintenance Manager/MIQA Leader.
Support and participate in training and safety audits as needed.
Adhere to Corporate and Site policies, procedures, and standards.
Ensure jobs are safely planned and scheduled to “Commit to Zero” incidents and injuries
Support the PSM wheel elements with strong focus on Quality Assurance and Mechanical Integrity.
Perform all duties in a safe manner and promptly report any hazardous conditions or safety concerns to leadership.
Maintain protection of the environment and health and safety of our employees, customers, contractors, and community.
Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) Duties
Work closely with operations and maintenance to achieve critical operating tasks (COTs).
Monitor performance against COTs via Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Participate in daily operations meetings to understand unit needs and changes in priorities.
Lead daily maintenance meetings to review completed work, status of jobs, and review of the work schedule.
Screen SAP work notifications to ensure work requests are properly prioritized and converted to work orders
Discuss jobs with the originators and perform field walks to ensure each job is understood and clearly defined.
Ensure work requests and requisition for materials and services are properly entered and authorized.
Plans all maintenance work orders by analyzing basic job steps, determine required sequence, and identify parts, materials, special tools, skills, services, and personnel requirements for each operation.
Review and interpret engineering drawings and sketches to complete job plans.
Develop estimate for craft hours, labor, and material costs for each work order.
Develop and communicate material staging plan and ensures job kits are prepared and ready.
Identify and plan support work such as scaffolding, insulation, heavy equipment, rigging, pipe fabrication, etc.
Prepare and deliver work packages that include job plan, drawings, work permits, procedures, special tools, safety requirements, and materials.
Maintains sufficient planned maintenance backlog for crafts/work crews.
Ensure work order priorities and manpower needs are established and adjusted accordingly
Review all completed work orders to document completed work, adherence to the job plan, record material used, and returns unused material to plant stores.
Publishes established planning and scheduling performance metrics for the work group.
Develop and update job plans based on audits and reviews of the completed work.
Participate in routine operations, maintenance, and backlog review meetings.
Maintain accurate bill of materials in SAP.
Recommend and set-up critical spare parts and minimum quantities. Eliminate obsolete spare parts.
Rare travel to local machine shops and/or suppliers to check the status of critical jobs and materials. Typically accompanied by an API Inspector and/or Engineer.
Provide on call support and occasional trips to the site during off hours.
Daily review of potential material issues and develop options to mitigate – identify and solve problem(s)
Provide daily updates regarding critical-path and routine material orders, lead times, tracking, delivery, and arrival
Leads and performs annual sub-stores inventory audit of materials.
High school diploma/GED
2 years SAP experience.
Effectively execute SAP transactions with respect to planning, scheduling, and materials management
Familiar with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC)
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and estimate.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Ability to lead and excel in a team environment.
Self-motivated with ability to work independently and exert influence.
Familiar with Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs and Techniques
Equipment hazards, failure modes, and the complexity of various maintenance restoration
First line break and lock out requirements
Ability to translate written repair procedures in SAP task list or work orders and shop papers (job packages) to facilitate effective scheduling
Ability to interpret drawings and bills of materials to create quality work orders structure (planning) and create sketches for communication to mechanics as part of work execution package
Become knowledgeable of and experienced with:
Site safety policies, procedures, and training as required.
Water and waste water treatment processes (equipment, chemicals, hazards, and unit operations)
Company maintenance work management processes (WMP) and its impact on asset reliability
Engineering standards as applied to pipe codes, valve codes, and product and service index.
Documentum®, Prometheus, Struxure® IHS
Creation of material master data description to ensure the materials meets the usage requirements.
Demonstrated ability to sequence job activities, acquire documentation, use specification references, take field measurements, work with vendors, procure material and maintain records.
Prefer 5 years industrial Manufacturing Maintenance experience.
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment used in industrial manufacturing
Ability to learn new skills and work methods, acquire process knowledge, learn best practice maintenance technologies and apply improvements in the maintenance management system.
