Job Summary and Qualifications
The Senior Accountant performs detailed accounting functions, financial analysis, and provides various general accounting services for the financial operations of Pacific Partners Management Services Incorporated (PPMSI) an and each of its clients. The Management Service Organization (MSO) is responsible for multiple general ledgers and monthly financial reporting packages. Reconcile accounts, prepare budgets, maintain budget to actual reports and support Controller with related accounting duties.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Lead monthly financial close, ensure journal entries and reporting is in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Audit Standards.

Prepare financial statements, variance analysis, and account reconciliations with minimal direction from Controller.

Responsible for Incurred but Not Reported (IBNR) for each of the MSO clients.

Responsible for the maintenance, integrity and accuracy of the related calculations and processes.

Ensure the accuracy of all revenue received by health plans for all IPA clients on a monthly basis, validating payments and accruals align with each health plan contract including capitation, risk pool arrangements, P4P settlements and all contractual arrangements of the MSO clients.

Prepare and record revenue entries in accordance with IPA policies and GAAP.

Monitor and ensure compliance to Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) Risk Bearing Organization (RBO) requirements for MSO clients.

Prepare budget to actual variance reports, analyze variances for each client and PPMSI.

Responsible to ensure payments to providers are in adherence with provider agreements.

Monitor FFS and Provider Capitation payments for trends based on contractual requirements and accurate reflection in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.

Prepare expense analysis for monthly financial results and coordination with other departments on remediation of identified drivers.

Requires cross functional understanding of claims, provider capitation, authorization, configuration, and system flow of data into our financial reports.

Participate in the preparation of external and internal audit schedules and prepare other required backup for annual and regulatory audits.

Prepare policy and procedure updates for responsible processes, in conjunction with Controller ensuring segregation of duties and adequate internal controls exist in all processes.

Participate in the annual budget process, leveraging historical trends and assumptions.

Identify and implement process improvements with emphasis on system enhancements that ensure segregation of duties and reconciliation processes remain intact, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting.

Filing and maintenance of financial and corporate documents in compliance with legal requirements.

Participate in annual regulatory submissions, such as 1099 filing ensuring the accuracy of all data elements, reconciliation to general ledger disbursements, and outgoing cash for all clients and PPMSI.

Provide a high level of customer service within Finance and to other business partners in conjunction with strong written and verbal communication skills

Perform other accounting and finance related projects as needed
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University required

At least 5 years’ experience in accounting/finance role with increasing responsibilities and demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction required.
