This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, Infrastructure Services Branch, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and designs, develops, configures, and tests enterprise-wide network and security solutions for implementation throughout the FDIC, as well as providing technical tier 3 support to the FDIC operational areas.

Leads the evaluation, design, selection, and implementation of multi-vendor network and security solutions throughout the enterprise to include LAN, MAN, WAN, remote access, wireless, next generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancing and application delivery, authentication, encryption, and orchestration.
Analyzes and recommends selection of hardware and software technologies and processes most suited to the requirements of the Corporation.
Analyzes new and changing FDIC application delivery needs and devises effective and efficient solutions.
Directs and guides in the gathering of hardware and software requirements for new initiatives, and evaluating and testing computer and software products to determine which products best meet the IT requirements of the Corporation and enhance the Corporation’s information security posture.
Ensures the rigorous application of information security, information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all network services to safeguard the FDIC internal and external networks in support of the FDIC core business.

In addition to the competencies listed above, all applicants must meet the specialized experience. To qualify for the CG/GS-13 grade level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG/GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience supporting the design and configuration of enterprise networks to include FEDRAMP certified cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure etc.), remote access systems, Virtual Private Networks (VPN's), and application delivery controllers (ADC's); and developing network security policies, procedures and knowledge of NIST guidelines.
