Primary Responsibilities:
The Field Service Engineer participates with a staff of support personnel to develop training materials and provide training to our customers and sales staff on the use of the company’s products. The Field Service Engineer will further develop product/process improvement ideas from interaction with customers and product installations; and a high level of interaction with mechanical contractors, regional officials, and all company departments in the course of fulfilling job duties.
The Field Service Engineer's role in product development includes input on new product opportunities, and support of new product specification, design, packaging, and field-testing. Interaction with marketing and R&D functions is common. Perform tests on existing and prototype parts. Record results of testing and prepare reports. Development of training materials and providing input to marketing is required in support of sales launch.
The customer support role to our product training in the field, and technical support from office to mechanical contractors, building officials, and plumbing and HVAC/R distributors. Support and involvement with building code processes are also required.
Relies on extensive product knowledge, practical mechanical knowledge, as well as knowledge and experience with plumbing and HVAC/R contracting industry.
Skills Required:
· Mechanical Aptitude
· Microsoft Office and CAD software
· Strong communication skills
· HVAC/R and plumbing, contracting, and industry experience
· Frequent domestic travel required; infrequent international travel
Education & Experience preferred:
· AS Engineering or equivalent through relevant work experience
· 2-10 years of relevant experience
