The Master Scheduler/Production Planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements, best utilize the company’s productive capacity, and manage inventory levels of Finished Goods.

Essential Functions

  • Master scheduling of production for food manufacturing plant across a broad range of products and customer requirements
  • Provides effective communication of the production plan between internal stakeholders - sales, procurement and production teams, and externally with customers in the case of co-packing relationships
  • Communicate with production team in a proactive manner regarding capacity and shift loading to efficiently meet production/sales requirements
  • Work closely with supply chain/procurement team and sales to get input on forecast changes/adjustments to limit company’s exposure to accumulating excess inventory
  • Work as part of the MRP team in maintaining targeted inventory levels for the business, including planning the consumption of obsolete/slow moving inventory and materials per goals of the business
  • Monitor and report inventory levels (Raw, WIP and Finished Goods) within the organization to ensure overall inventory is at acceptable levels
  • Provide meaningful reporting and analysis that interprets data and communicates information that is useful for decision making
  • Work efficiently in fast-paced environment with lots of moving parts while balancing competing priorities
  • Work with all departments and management levels (from executives to production workers)

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, or
  • 2+ years master scheduling experience with ERP software in a process manufacturing environment

Preferred Education and Experience

  • APICS certification
  • 2+ years as an Excel power user with demonstrated proficiency working with pivot tables and analysis of large data sets. Ideally versed in optimization modeling (e.g., solver) and using these techniques in a work setting
