Support the continued growth volumes and diversification for QMS at three production facilities.
Basic Position Duties
Support in maintenance of QMS systems for injection molding/ assembly processes (FMEA/ Control Plans/ Work Instructions), supporting in periodic system reviews and in internal/ external QMS audits. Responsible to maintain plant compliance with IATF/ 16949 requirements.
Support customer claim system (initial cross-functional team meetings, 3D submission, root cause analysis, 8D submission, effectiveness audits), ensuring all customer specific requirements related to claims are met. Requires quick containment of suspect product and effective communication with customers. Develop strong understanding of production processes.
Product Testing and Validation: Requires ability to read drawings, measure or test product and compile data for submission to customers, including development of reports/ responses to customer inquiries and concerns. Testing Equipment: Develop ability to use lab equipment in the course of responding to customer inquiries (Measuring microscope, Profile Projector, Melt Flow Indexer, polarizing microscope, tensile tester, etc.)
Process Change Management: Requires notification to customers (SCR’s/ Process Change Requests) of future changes in production location/ method/ molds/ machine to ensure quick approvals. Perform RU Ready Audits, manage product trials, material validation, first shipments, etc.
Auditing: Requires ability to audit processes to confirm preparedness for production (RU Ready Audits) Responsibilities will include process audits, 5S audits, PK Audits (including audit preparation), work compliance audits of operators, etc.
Quarantine Control: Oversee and support daily quarantine control activities to ensure robust control of non-conforming product (scanning, moving, disposition, including the development of temporary work instructions for proper product disposition. Ensure that backtracking activities are robustly implemented.
Supervisory Responsibilities may include oversight o the In-Line Inspectors and oversight responsibility for the QA Lab performance and function. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Training: Shares responsibility for the development of QA department members (training on new equipment, training of new testing methods, other training as applicable).
Responsibilities include continuous improvement/ Kaizen activities.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Quality Discipline preferred; 1 - 7 years’ experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment. Automotive industry experience preferred.
Must exhibit knowledge/ skill with quality management systems, correction action systems (5 Why/ 8D), auditing capabilities.
Must have solid computer skills.
Must have supervisor capability.
Must be available for domestic/international travel (limited)
