The Amazon Home Marketing Team is seeking a highly creative and entrepreneurial individual to join our unique and dynamic team. As the CD for home categories (Furniture, Home Décor, Kitchen, Home Improvement, Lawn & Garden), you will lead the conception and development of marketing content that inspires customer and drives engagement across Amazon Home and Registry marketing programs while influencing creative developed by internal and external partner teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create concepts and art direction for all Home marketing programs and touch points including, onsite merchandising, social media, and digital advertising
  • Art direct in-studio and on-location photoshoots for home furnishings, food, and related lifestyle merchandising categories
  • Provide visual design direction and oversee the production of graphics for onsite merchandising, traffic drivers, social advertising, and all other marketing needs
  • Lead content managers and merchandisers in planning and executing seasonal merchandising campaigns
  • Review the work of internal and external creative teams, providing feedback as a stakeholder or approver
  • Develop and refine design guidelines and style guides for Home content and marketing programs
  • Partner with UX designers to create visual identities that elevate product and browse CX
  • Forecast resourcing needs and build schedules for development and production projects
  • Own departmental budget and efficiency goals
  • Build and grow and a roster of external agencies and freelance talent
  • Mentor and develop on-staff creative and content talent

They have successfully demonstrated the ability to translate business goals into inspiring designs and effective messaging along with a track record of earning trust from key stakeholders. Not only does this candidate have exceptional creative and brand marketing skills, they can provide effective direction and feedback to a wide array of internal and external teams across disciplines–from designers and art directors to stylists and producers to content and marketing managers–while looking for opportunities to optimize processes and improve delivery timelines.

  • 10+ years of art direction, brand design, or editorial leadership experience for e-commerce or omnichannel retailer, consumer brand, digital agency, or lifestyle publication
  • Experience leading editorial teams in developing content marketing strategies
  • Advanced photo retouching, illustration, and motion graphics experience
  • Working knowledge of UX principles and best practices with experience designing for e-commerce
  • Detailed knowledge of social media landscape and best practices
  • Hands-on experience art directing and styling in-studio and on-location photo productions
  • Passion for home furnishings and interior design
