Under general supervision of the Business Manager, performs technical accounting work in maintaining a complex set of detailed support books for the Vandalia Correctional Center's general revenue accounts, posting to commodity, contractual and operation of automotive purchases ledgers and authorization book; codes, inputs and verifies Order for Delivery (OFD) and invoice vouchers; maintains the automotive cost report system; assists the Business Administrator and Accountant with accounting and purchasing data for projections and reviews.

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of 2 years of college and completion of an approved training course, or 3 years of related clerical bookkeeping experiences; requires working knowledge of accounting techniques; requires working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures; requires working knowledge of office methods and procedures; requires working knowledge of principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment.
