We are seeking a flex-time Controller or Accounting Manager for a newly designed position to oversee the accounting and finance functions of the club. The position is part-to-full time and offers a unique opportunity for the candidate to design a schedule of hours that fits their personal goals across the calendar year.
This team member will supervise the activities of the full-charge Bookkeeper and Payroll Clerk and will report directly to the General Manager.
The ideal candidate will be of high integrity, excel at collaboration, operate with a strong team spirit, possess the ability to manage effectively, and excel at documentation. Experience in golf, or other Hospitality industry, and the Jonas accounting system is a significant plus.
Controller Job Duties:
Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Membership, and Payroll functions.
Oversee the IT operation working with incumbent outside contracted service provider.
Cross train in the Bookkeeper and Payroll Clerk roles to serve as a backup when needed.
Document internal controls for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Membership, and Payroll, review, and make recommendations for improvement.
Document monthly accounting close procedures, review, and make recommendations for improvement.
Periodically audit the Food and Beverage inventories.
Collaborate with General Manager to define and produce monthly reporting to provide near term insight into the financial operation. Identify potential corrective actions and watch areas as needed.
Collaborate with General Manager, Function Sales Manager, and other team members to review and improve Outside Function Profit and Loss analysis.
Collaborate with General Manager and the member Treasurer on the production and validation of the monthly financial statements.
Review Payroll quarterly and annual government filings including 941s, 940s, Massachusetts Unemployment, W2s, and 1099s.
Collaborate with General Manager and the member Treasurer to provide trend analysis and funding recommendations into the club Annual Budget process.
Be available as called upon to attend and participate in Board or Committee meetings
Protect the interests of this member owned business by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
