ProMedica Toledo Hospital is one of the largest acute-care facilities in the region. The Parent Instructor and Lactation Consultant functions as an active member of the women’s health care team with the primary focus of promoting healthy pregnancy and birth outcomes and facilitates a positive transition to parenting, early parenting skills and infant feeding practices. The instructor offers clinical support of breastfeeding activities, designs, teaches and evaluates various courses that support the family’s transition through pregnancy to parenthood.
Required- Evidence of continuing education in Nursing
Preferred- Bachelor’s degree
Required- Current license in Nursing in the State of Ohio
Certification by appropriate specialty organization preferred (Lamaze International and International Board of Lactation Consultants)
Required- Must have four to five (4-5) years clinical experience
Preferred- Two (2) years of clinical experience in a teaching role
Experience in maternal-infant nursing practice
