Performs efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and registration of outpatients. Ensures that accurate and complete patient data is collected and that all managed care requirements are met. Explains Medical Center policies and procedures to patients.

Receives and processes requests for admissions and outpatient services.

Gather required patient information:
Insurance information.
Authorization/Referral Source.
Online insurance information.
Makes notes in accounts.

Issuing to patients:
Notice of Privacy
Financial options.
Signatures on consents
Wrist bands.
Creates and routes admission packets.
Receives and records payments on accounts.
Assists families with special requests. Experience Preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology including medical terms; general knowledge of medical insurance and managed care plans; ability to interview patients family members and medical providers to obtain information for registration; skills in data entry with typing speed of at least 45 wpm.
