Position Overview

Wealth Management Operations provides operational support to the Wealth Management business in the areas of Wealth Advisory, Discretionary, Trust Planning, Custody and Brokerage as well as the Deposit business with combined $70bn AUM. Operations is responsible for middle and back office services including outsourced services to third party vendors and services offshored to internal Deutsche Bank locations (Outsourced services include transaction processing, custodial, clearing, settlement activities and others). Operations collaborates with stakeholders in the Business / Product lines, Technology, Compliance, Finance, Legal, Risk, and others to deliver optimal support.

Role Description:
The Middle Office AVP is responsible for Operations support for Investment Products (Advisory, Discretionary, Trust, Custody Brokerage, and others.) ensuring effective and efficient middle and back-office service delivery in a controlled environment. The individual will be responsible for day to day transaction handling/monitoring activities and will liaise with the front office and back office vendors to address operational issues/inquiries/ requests. Involvement in process/workflow reengineering as well as ensuring adherence to internal policy, regulatory mandates and risk mitigation will be necessary. The candidate will be based out of New York and report to the Middle Office Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
Liaise with front office in terms of issues/inquiries/requests Operational in nature and ensure expectation setting as well as comprehensive and timely responses to the business
Facilitate operational issue resolution through proper documentation of root cause analysis (RCA) and recommended improvements ensuring client needs are being addressed by Middle Office
Ensure operational back office service providers supporting WM provide timely and accurate transaction processing and deliver services at an optimal level; address gaps as appropriate
Leverage strong expertise of understanding client requirements and of operations to execute and communicate recommendations to develop improved workflows
Understand and apply the suite of mandatory regulatory deliverables affecting Operations in collaboration with the Regulatory Change team and MO Manager
Support projects & programs supporting WM Americas transformation initiatives including efficiency opportunities, end-to-end reviews as well as core platform optimization initiatives. In certain instances lead small adhoc process improvement projects as a result of RCA.

Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Experience in Operations role within middle / back-office environment
Wealth Management and Custody background as well as knowledge of WM suite of products
Excellent client / stakeholder management and communication skills (written/ verbal) with ability to facilitate meetings/discussions to progress topics to comprehensive next steps and resolution
Understanding of workflow / process mapping approach / understanding of project lifecycle a plus
High degree of excel knowledge (PowerPoint capabilities a plus)
Demonstrate ability to work with stakeholders and colleagues in a collaborative manner
Team oriented, logical thinker, displays a sense of urgency
Four-year college degree, financial service licenses (active/not active) a plus
