Summary
The position of Welder/Fitter will be responsible for performing complex, welding/fabrication operations, interpreting blueprints and drawings, setting up and operating all welding equipment and hand tools, polishing and cleaning parts, inspecting parts, using material handling equipment, and performing fit-up operations.
Essential Functions

Interpret complicated aerospace drawings and specifications.

Use various types of benching equipment, machine tools, precision measurement tools, and various hand tools.

Ability to lay and fabricate metal weldments and assemblies.

Must be familiar with brake forming, welding, and other structural processes.

Perform rework assignments as required.

Ability to use a wide variety of basic deburr and hand finish tools, both electric and pneumatic such as (right angle grinder, die grinder, orbital sanders and other hand finishing tools and equipment).

Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.

Must be able to weld using MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding processes.

Perform structural fit up using a brake press and other means.

Set up and operate band saws, brake presses, surface grinders, industrial trucks, and hoist/crane equipment, etc.

Fabricator skills to include complicated layouts, shrinkage calculations, check & straighten capability, and should be able to direct a project.

Proof loading experience is preferred.

Knowledge in the use of hand tools (drill motors, grinders, basic measurement Instruments, etc.)

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 50 pounds.

Requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Qualified to AWS D 1.1 standards
Preferred:

Minimum 10 years experience as a Welder; including prior experience in Aerospace/Manufacturing setting.
