Position Overview
The North America Information Technology team, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Lead IT Business Partner – Manufacturing Systems. This role will align IT solutions with business execution strategies and collaborate closely between the business and other technical resources as well as contribute to the growth of capabilities with-in the areas of business engagement, solution analysis and project delivery.
An ideal candidate will develop effective working relationships with business partners and technical experts to provide consultation, analysis, and insights to drive development and deployment of standard mythologies, process improvements, systems and reporting solutions which deliver improved performance, cost-savings, and top results throughout the enterprise.
This role must understand business processes holistically (metal’s manufacturing experience is preferred but not required), gather requirements and analyze data across the business value stream, transform it into a manageable form, and deliver an action plan by priority to the process owners for execution.
In support of smaller projects and day-to-day business engagement, the role requires coordination between the various resources, tasks, and timing, handles direct communication to end users, and assists with ongoing improvement initiatives across existing applications.
Additionally, this application ownership role for Manufacturing Systems – MES, LIMS, Scheduling, and other shop floor manufacturing applications is responsible for the adoption and value delivery to support the vision and achieve the desired outcomes that the business seeks to accomplish.
Responsibilities

Provides subject matter expertise for MES implementation projects at both Greenfield and Brownfield plants in North America.
- Should be well versed with the Business analyst role and responsibilities, understanding BRD, FRD writing and engaging in E2E implementation of large-scale MES / MOM projects.

Collects and documents requirements, coordinates work from technical resources, contributes to the technical design, using creative-thinking expertise and solution prototypes.

Details information systems projects status, including functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, data dictionaries, crosswalks, design specifications, test plans and scripts, etc. and performs quality control and facilitates user acceptance testing.

Develop, configure, and present alternative solutions and proof of concepts. Can build data-derived, but simplified models that can solve complex problems and can provide recommended solutions.

Support Novelis North America IT business engagement activities. Identifies and aligns IT enablers to support business initiatives and provides input to project roadmap and project prioritization process.

Builds and delivers correspondence, presentations, and other materials for end user training.

Proactive self-starter that is highly effective both when working independently, and on a team of intelligent and driven professionals.

Collaborates with technical team and leadership to define solutions to develop the architecture of the selected solutions.

Provide consultation on sophisticated projects and is the top-level contributor/specialist of the business application while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.

Adhere to governance of protocol for IT engagements, prioritization of work, maintenance of portfolio and resource alignment. Adhere to established Agile and hybrid methodologies.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor of engineering / technology in Computer engineering, Electrical / Electronic engineering, Information systems, Industrial & Systems Engineering or related fields. An MS or equivalent graduate degree is preferred but not required.
- Must have minimum 7-10 years of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) / Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) functional and configuration experience, IT related project methodologies and life cycles.
- Must have a working knowledge of Siemens OpCenter suite of products.
- Must have a working understanding of SAP and relevant middleware technologies – MuleSoft, TIBCO etc.
- Must have experience with database technologies and should demonstrate good understanding of data lake, data warehouse and data mart.

Demonstrates good understanding of ISA-95 architecture, IT-OT networks, CPwE, OPC UA and other relevant industrial communication standards.
- Manufacturing industry experience, “process manufacturing” along with Material Resource Planning (MRP) experience (production planning, scheduling, and inventory control system) is required.
- Proficiency in performing data retrieval, input, and/or general use of SAP, Power BI, Power Apps, or manufacturing operations software. Able to actively learn new data management systems quickly and perform with limited guidance.

Experienced in business process re-engineering or using Lean and Six Sigma concepts to improve business and operations (e.g., Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, etc.) in a work environment.

Strong verbal and written communication/documentation skills.

Superior leadership, communication and interpersonal skills required to seamlessly interface and collaborate with all levels of management.

Able to present high-level, critical analysis, build consensus from stakeholders, and drive strategic decisions with a tactical-level execution.

Consistent record of results in a constantly evolving environment - execution oriented and always delivers.

Ability to travel up to 40%.
