Nemours Urgent Care Center at Glen Mills is seeking a part-time seasonal Physician Assistant with experience in Pediatric UC or Pediatric Emergency Medicine. This candidate would be scheduled for 26-30 hours per week during the highest volume months, September-May.
The PA will be performing direct patient care under the supervision of Nemours Pediatric UC physicians. The physician assistant must be able to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to history and physical examination, performance and interpretation of diagnostic testing, performance of therapeutic interventions and procedures, determination of patient disposition and subspecialty consultation as needed. The physician assistant will collaborate with the physicians in patient care or work under general supervision on case by case basis. The Physician Assistant will have demonstrated procedural competence in Basic Life Support (PALS certification), wound management, splinting of common orthopedic injuries and foreign body removal.
Graduate from a physician assistant program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) of the American Medical Association
Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
Valid and Unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Pennsylvania (and, other state in which Physician Assistant provides patient care services for Nemours mainly the State of Delaware)
Two or more years of Pediatric Urgent care or Pediatric Emergency Medicine Experience is highly desirable.
Letter of support from Supervising Physician attesting to overall competency in Pediatric UC and in performing procedures noted above.
