Job Description
Substance Use Disorder Counselor is responsible for working with the patients on their caseload to complete assessments, treatment plans, counseling, education, case management, and support to patients.
Duties:
- Facilitates evidence-based group counseling and/or patient education.
- Conduct Intakes, Discharge Planning, Initial Needs Assessments and Treatment Plans.
- Provide evidence-based treatment services.
- Orient new patients to the program's rules, policies, procedures, and patient's rights.
- Provide case management services, including referrals to community resources, mental health, and medical services.
Skills & Abilities
- Familiar with the evaluation of patients, treatment planning, and counseling services.
- Effective verbal and listening skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Must be Certified
- Weekend/Night availability is required
- Proficient in Motivational Interviewing
Qualifications
Alcohol & Drug Counselor certification
At least 2 years or equivalent clinical experience or training is necessary to provide counseling services to our patient population.
- Maintain compliance with the requirements for continuing education hours and/or units (CEH or CEU) as determined by the certification/licensing board.
- ASAM and SAGE knowledge
