Business college, office skills training, university level education, approved medical secretary program, clerical experience OR a combination of the above totaling four (4) years. Experience to include at least one (1) year of medical/dental clerical experience which must include keyboarding experience and experience interacting with people (i.e. receptionist, switchboard etc.).
Experience utilizing independent judgment to perform a wide variety of tasks in a professional manner.
Experience with prioritizing, problem solving and multi-tasking and performing in a high demanding environment.
Experience using data look-up and data entry functions on a mainframe or PC based computer system.
Experience with AxiUM scheduling system highly preferred.
Experience performing under pressure and handle multiple tasks at one time.
Demonstrated advanced oral communication skills
Demonstrated advanced written communication skills
Extensive experience working with a diverse population and working with interpreters.
Experience with validating insurance information, prior authorizations, and following up on insurance claims is a plus.
Experience communicating either bi-lingual or multi lingual

Complete the registration process, including reviewing the registration information for completeness and accuracy and obtain further information, if necessary

Specialty Appointment Coordination
Provide patient with information required to schedule specialty appointments
Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the clinic
Answer telephone and respond appropriately to the caller
Take and relay messages requiring follow-up to appropriate individuals
Prepare records and materials for new patient appointments
Assist with the clerical duties of the clinic, e.g., faxing information, making copies, etc.
Maintain open communication with Scheduling coordinators to ensure patient and provider needs are met
Coordinate schedule templates
Coordinate emergency schedule changes
Coordinate schedules regarding provider vacation, rounding, and other out of clinic changes

Hourly Salary Range: $16.27 to $21.24 USD/hour
