Kier & Wright Civil Engineers & Surveyors is a civil engineering and land surveying firm specializing in land development services. Civil engineering services include land planning, street design, municipal consultation, utility engineering, and the preparation of civil engineering plans for commercial, industrial and high-density residential site developments. Land surveying services include ALTA surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, subdivision mapping, monitoring surveys and construction staking. Kier & Wright is headquartered in Livermore and has offices in Santa Clara, Ventura, Manteca and Rancho Cordova.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Ventura team! The Civil Engineer should have a minimum of 4-7 years’ experience in Land Development and a willingness to work in a fun and fast-paced office environment. This position is ideal for a motivated self-starter with excellent civil engineering design skills who is looking long-term career growth opportunity and mentorship.

Duties Will Include:
Drafting/designing grading plans, utility plans, storm drainage plans and street improvement plans using AutoCAD Civil3D.
Civil engineering calculations (i.e. hydraulic calculations & stormwater calculations).
Preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP’s).
Coordination with municipalities, architects, subconsultants & clients.

B.S. or M.S. degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience (candidates with a degree in environmental engineering degree who demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a land development career may be considered if able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience).
Extensive AutoCAD experience.
4-7 years of Land Development experience.
Prior relevant work experience with AutoCAD drafting and/or design.
Working knowledge of current versions of Microsoft Office programs & Adobe Acrobat.
Intermediate Excel proficiency.
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Must be organized, punctual and reliable. Must work quickly, accurately and efficiently.
P.E. License

Desired Skills & Traits:
Prior land development work experience.
Experience with drafting and/or design of grading plans, utility plans, plan and profiles and street improvement plans.
Ability to create and edit pdf files.
Proficiency in Civil3D strongly preferred.
Proficiency in StormCAD.
Experience in the preparation of hydraulic calculations.
Experience in the preparation of stormwater calculations.
