VitalSource®,is hiring a(n) Director of Marketing to contribute to our Intrepid team located remotely.
The Director of Marketing will enable revenue growth by developing, implementing, and overseeing marketing programs, activities, and brand communications for the Intrepid business. This position will lead the development and execution of Intrepid’s marketing strategy and tactics that enable growth in the corporate learning market. The Director will utilize all methods of marketing communication and distribution to build product and brand awareness that generates customer and partner demand.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field; or relevant experience
- 7 years of demonstrable business experience leading strategic and product marketing programs

Key Responsibilities:
- Leads marketing function and serves on the Intrepid leadership team contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
- Comfortable leading and managing team members/employees
- Creates and executes overall marketing strategy and tactical plans for brand awareness, demand generation, and other go-to-market objectives.
- Creates and leads marketing campaigns focused on key segments utilizing an effective marketing mix to reach target audience, e.g., account-based marketing, events and webinars, lead nurturing campaigns, etc.
- Demonstrates knowledge of learning analyst relations, media relations, brand strategy, website design, and market intelligence & insights.
- Demonstrates excellent writing skills, and ability to effectively manage others to create and distribute content via email, website, collateral, social media platforms, and other channels.
- Leads the marketing function by inspiring a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and accountability. Facilitates strong trust and collaboration across Intrepid and VitalSource teams including sales, technology, product, and customer success.
- Communicates effectively with all stakeholders - senior management, sales, product management, customers, partners, analysts, suppliers, etc.
- Exhibits deep experience marketing to corporate learning and learning technology buyers.
- Demonstrates curiosity and empathy for Intrepid’s customers and partners. Participates regularly in meetings and calls with Intrepid sales team, customers and partners.
- Learns and deeply understands Intrepid platform and target market segments, competitive landscape, and Intrepid competitive advantages and disadvantages. Leads regular updates of Intrepid brand messaging framework.
- Defines KPIs/KPEs and reports and analyzes metrics on a regular cadence to measure marketing activities, identify successes and opportunities for improvement, and optimize marketing investments accordingly.
- Establishes and/or improves on existing processes, systems, and approaches for enhancing marketing operations.
- Optimizes lead scoring and distribution methodology to ensure quality leads are passed to sales for qualification and opportunity conversion.
- Provides strategic and tactical oversight of marketing technologies including HubSpot, Salesforce/CRM, and website tools and social platforms such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Hootsuite, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
- Defines a holistic marketing database management strategy that supports data unification across relevant internal systems, maintains data quality, and enforces governance and measurement.
- Develops and manages Intrepid marketing budget with a commitment to maximizing the impact of company investments.
- Demonstrates analytical skills including budget management and forecasting.
- Demonstrates ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and critical thinking to effectively adapt to changing needs and situations.
- Exhibits strong organizational, project management, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
