Position Summary:
Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. is currently looking for a Manager, Category Management to support our Target business based in Minneapolis, MN. Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Category Development & Shopper Insights, the Manager position serves as the Category Captain for Shelf Stable Juice at Target. This Manager should be highly skilled in the use of analytical tools, combining disparate pieces of data and insights into a holistic story, and can operate in a highly effective manner.

This is a remote opportunity based out of Minneapolis, MN.

A Day in the Life of a Category Manager:
Provide Category Captain partnership, support, and collaboration to Target for the Shelf Stable Juice category, including reporting, trend analysis, revision/transition process, and special project work
Leverage robust consumer, guest, and category insights to identify and maximize growth opportunities and create a growth strategy for the category.
Utilize multiple data sources to develop comprehensive go-to-market category strategies, spanning across product, placement, price, and promotion.
Partner with Target buyer on shelf planning insights inclusive of evaluating assortment opportunities, performing space to sales analyses, recommending best in class shelving & merchandising strategies based on shopper and shelving research.
Continually identify creative and improved methods and approaches of category management for Target, which will lead to sustainable category growth and better business relationships.
Approach strategic projects with confidence; applying creativity and project management skills through ideation, development, piloting, and test & learn.
Use your category expertise, intellect, emotional intelligence, and pro-active communication skills to effectively partner with key stakeholders to drive category growth at Target.

What We Are Looking For:
7+ years Category Management experience, Food & Beverage preferred
Category Captain or Advisor experience at Target preferred
Experience with Target proprietary tools, Merch IQ, CKS, DOMO, & IRI are a must
High proficiency with space planning / planogram software (JDA)
Ability to attend meetings at Target HQ in Minneapolis, MN on a weekly basis
Candidates must possess deep knowledge of category management practices and principles at Target, including strategy, planning, implementation, execution, and assessment process
Must be knowledgeable in gathering and interpreting syndicated data (IRI and ACNielsen) as well as custom and syndicated consumer insights to provide supporting evidence for recommendations.
Possess the ability to multitask and prioritize multiple ongoing projects
Exceptional communication skills and strong presentation skills, both verbally and written.
Ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a strategic thinker, possess strong analytical skills, and works well cross-functionally
Bachelor’s degree required
