Job Description / Typical Duties:
Respite care means to provide in home respite care on an as needed basis in the absence of a Shared Living Home Care Provider. Respite care can be provided in the Participant’s home, the Shared Living Home Care Provider's home, or in the home of the respite care provider. Respite typically takes place when a Shared Living Home Care Provider goes on vacation or is just going away for a day or two to attend a wedding, funeral, family event or weekend getaway. Most all Participants (clients) receive daytime supports from outside staff, so this is typically a "stay overnight" role.
