The Communications Assistant reports to the Media Relations Manager. This position is responsible for handling Consumer Affairs tasks and for supporting the Digital & Social PR team in Corporate Communications
Respond to consumer correspondence with both template responses and individualized responses as the need requires.
Maintain logs and administer reports of phone and email consumer communications.
Escalate consumer feedback, issues, and concerns to management.
Liaise with various internal teams—including Legal, Digital Products, and Digital & Social Media—to sync on best practices and communications relating to consumers.
Digital & Social PR
Monitor social media platforms for conversation threads and mentions of HBO programming from press and influencers.
Evaluate social media engagement and impressions for coverage reports.
Conduct research for publicity campaigns and maintain niche contact lists.
Track industry news and trends for quarterly reports.
Post content to HBO PR social/publishing platforms, including Twitter and Medium.
Edit daily press reports and complete other administrative tasks as needed.
Bachelor’s degree and at least one year relevant work experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Exceptional phone skills, including the ability to respond to consumer feedback and complaints with tact and diplomacy.
Solid understanding of and interest in media and entertainment.
Familiarity with various social media platforms and an interest in analyzing/organizing/interpreting data. (Experience with Excel a plus!)
Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized with an ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
Must be proactive, resourceful, and innovative.
